Academy Parent Ambassadors

Local governance and parental engagement play an important role in connecting the Board of Trustees with our academy communities while providing support and challenge at a local level.

The Board of Trustees retains overall accountability for the performance and governance of each academy within the Trust, supported by our executive leadership team and academy leaders.

Each academy is expected to maintain an effective parental engagement strategy to ensure that the views of pupils, parents, carers and the wider community are heard and acted upon. To strengthen this approach, every academy has an Academy Parent Ambassador (APA).

Academy Parent Ambassadors oversee arrangements for gathering and responding to stakeholder feedback and have opportunities to share local perspectives with Trust leaders, including the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Trustees.

APAs also help ensure that statutory governance requirements are met, including the establishment of Governor Disciplinary Committees (GDCs) when required to consider pupil suspensions and exclusions.

They are supported by a professional governance and administrative team, overseen by the Corporate Affairs Director, and by our experienced and fully trained Resolutions Group. Many members of this group previously served on Academy Advisory Councils (AACs), and their expertise and commitment continue to provide valuable support to our academies and Trust.
