Togetherness Programme
Understanding emotional health and development
As children grow, they experience a wide range of emotions, and learning how to understand and manage these feelings is an important part of healthy development. Togetherness offers a series of engaging online learning pathways designed to help parents and carers better understand children's emotional health, behaviour and wellbeing.
Created by NHS psychologists, health practitioners and parents, these trusted, evidence-informed resources provide practical strategies that families can use in everyday life. The courses are designed to help parents feel more confident, reduce anxiety around parenting challenges, and support children to develop the emotional skills they need to thrive.
The Togetherness pathways include helpful guidance on:
- Understanding brain development and how it influences behaviour
- Supporting children with big emotions and emotional regulation
- Building positive relationships and communication within the family
- Promoting resilience, confidence and wellbeing
- Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive way
- Looking after your own wellbeing as a parent or carer
Families who engage with the resources often report increased confidence in supporting their child, improvements in emotional regulation, and more positive behaviour at home.
We are pleased that free access to Togetherness resources is available to families through the support of Cumbria County Council's Child and Family Wellbeing System, ensuring that high-quality advice and support is accessible whenever it is needed.
Whether you are seeking reassurance, practical strategies, or simply want to better understand your child's emotional world, Togetherness offers valuable support for every stage of your parenting journey.
